How The Donald saved us from ourselves
I’ve long believed that questioning Barack Obama’s citizenship status – more specifically whether he was born in the US or elsewhere – has been a distraction from the more important debate: whether or not he should be elected to a second term.
Thankfully, the White House today released the President’s long form birth certificate verifying he was born in Hawaii. I’m sure that there are those who will continue to question the veracity of the birth certificate, but this should put the vast majority of doubters at ease.
Now, I do confess to being a conspiracy theorist myself. I believe that Barack Obama was intentionally holding back his birth certificate, not in an attempt to hide anything about his past, but to keep the fires of the so-called “birther” movement burning. Up until recently, anyone who questioned the President’s nationality was considered out of the mainstream. By refusing to answer these questions once and for all, I believe the President was hoping the dialogue about his reelection would be hijacked by those, widely considered out of the mainstream, who wanted to have a discussion about his eligibility for the FIRST election.
Then something strange happened. Donald Trump unabashedly began asking questions, and getting everyone’s attention while doing it. After the endless media coverage of The Donald’s quest for the truth about the President’s nationality, all of a sudden many people had doubts. Then on Monday, USA Today/Gallup released a poll showing that the birther question was making it’s way into mainstream: only 38% of Americans were able to definitively say that Obama was born in the US!
Donald Trump in many ways saved us from ourselves. I do believe that whoever the Republican nominee for President was going to be, they were going to have to answer questions about the President’s birth certificate. If they had questioned his eligibility, they would have appeared out of the mainstream: a conservative whacko, out of touch with reality, and a conspiracy theorist. Perhaps even worse, though, is that if they would have said the President was indeed eligible, then they would have alienated a very active and motivated base. These are potential donors and volunteers; people who are willing to work very hard to defeat the President in his re-election campaign. And Donald Trump accomplished what Conservatives have failed to do after almost four years of trying: put the birther issue behind us.
Now we can focus on the important issue. Barack Obama interpreted his electoral victory as a mandate to push forward with a European-style liberal agenda. From ObamaCare to trillions of dollars in deficit spending; from botching his promised Gitmo closure to the nebulous Libyan conflict; and from skyrocketing gas prices to a weakening dollar, Barack Obama has done nothing to deserve a second term. And thanks to The Donald, we can talk about these issues instead of a birth certificate.

This just reinforces the need for leaders not compromised Rinos like we have. How long did this BS go on with Obama’s certicate? Trump ended it in what 3 months? McCain threatened his own staff not to ask anything of this fraud that was elected and we are stuck. Americans have been bilked out of billions in income by Bernanke and Geithner appointed by the disgraced Bush. All these groups need to combine as one and back people who demand an end to the Bush/McCain style capitulators who ushered in this fraud. That is what needs to be done, these guys got a pass and didn’t earn a second chance like spoiled children. They need to be replaced as soon as possible.
I think your senario of the entire birther issue is WRONG. I am not a particularly agitated birther but I always wondered about my president and his authenticity. Voters should NOT be demeaned for wanting ethics and legallity in their government, and yet they have been. Donald Trump came on the scene and excited Republicans who were starving to hear from someone with a back bone, someone who would begin to question Obama boldly and without fear of the lame stream media. So Trump got traction and attention immediately. But the birth certificate has NOT been put to rest. It has NOT been authenticated. There are still doubts, even in my mind, and as I said, I have not been fixated on the subject. But don’t doubt for one second that the BC issue has been a “distraction”………..Do you actually think that that is ALL Patriots have focused on, that they haven’t been capable of noticing just what Obama has been up to? You must NOT think very highly of the Patriots, of their capacity to follow Obama’s every move. I submit to you that the birth issue has been a distraction for Obama and his administration, NOT the other way around. He’s the one who hired lawyers to “hide” his BC and college transcripts, spending $2 million to do so. He’s the one who is fearful of being transparent, even though he lied to America about that very issue. He’s the one who has been dodging bullets for two and a half years now so the public won’t know his true resume………..No, I don’t agree that Patriots have been distracted. Patriots have been active participants in their government…………..
